So I arrived in Ljubljana today after a looong flight.
The first leg was 9:35 hours with a 2 hour layover and then a second leg from Frankfurt, Germany to Ljubljana on a plane that looked like it was built in the 60’s and flown by a dropout from some Eastern Bloc air force training program.
I have never been more frightened on a plane!
After a short two hour nap since I had been up for 24 hours, I ventured out into the city.
First stop, the local McDonalds.
I know, I should try the local food, immerse myself in the culture.
I will save that for when I have a bit more sleep.
McDonalds is predictable, fast, while not the best food in the world, satisfying.
I took a quick look around after that and headed back to the hotel for a beer before it got dark and I got lost.
The beer was a local Slovenian beer, Union.
Evidently there is a beer war going on here between the Union followers and the Lasko loyalists.
I haven’t had the Lasko, but I will before I leave. Well time to get some sleep.
