Well I took my first trip after relocating to Sydney. I went to Singapore for business and some meetings. I have to say it was the cleanest city I have ever been to. After talking to several residents and expats, I also found out that it is a very expensive city with a lot of rules. No chewing gum, selling gum is against the law, anime is illegal, and, as printed on the entry document, drug smuggeling will be answered with death. However, I also felt very safe walking around the city no matter the time of night. I did not see one cop the entire time I was there, and the homeless was non-existent. Unfortunately I did not spend much time seeing the sights as usual on business trips, but I definitely look forward to returning and taking in all that Singapore has to offer. It is a very cosmopolitan city with a huge variety of shops, food, and culture. In the few days I was there, I tried Dim Sum (not bad), Indian food (also not bad, chicken would have been better had it been white meat), and Japanese food (OK, I had tried Japanese food before, not my favorite). All in all a good experience. I will keep you posted if I ever return.
